Making Cookies

Okay, I must admit I cheated...I used a cookie mix where all you add is an egg and some liquid. In my defense, I wanted to bake cookies with my Granddaughter Chloe and time was an issue.

Who can resist tasting the dough? Chloe couldn't and I think she did a little more than "taste" the dough.

We cut out fall shapes including pumpkins, various leaves, apples, and turkeys. I'm thinking she made so many turkeys because they were HUGE compared to leaves and would enable her to have a larger portion. Wait... Chloe is only 18 months old and probably doesn't "think" things like that yet.

Chloe was with me every step of the way. Once I showed her how the rolling pin worked, she was a great helper rolling out the dough. Of course she tasted a little more of the dough too!

Hmmmm, that leaf was pretty good.

I've waited many years to bake cookies with my grandchildren. It brought back a flood of memories...

*baking with my Grandma Wood - cookies, pies... yummy

*the endless hours of baking my Mom would do for school parties, Girl Scouts, and then later with her own grandchildren

*sitting in Grandma Keesee's kitchen while watching her put the finishing touches on her AMAZING NO-BAKE COOKIES, and pulling the perfect chocolate chip cookies from the oven

*Bob's Mom making those cute little animal shaped sugar cookies for a snack and baking them with our girls

*baking and decorating cookies with my own girls, my Girl Scout troop and Bible Class kiddos

*baking Cherry Pies with Clint & Megan

Making cookies with Chloe was just as special as I dreamed it would be.

I WOULD NOT have it any other way! I can't imagine not making those fabulous memories with my granddaughters and daughters. Looking back brings back so many moments with my girls, my family, my Mother, and Grandmothers and I thank God for each and every memory!
